Dr. Mirza Ahmed has been practicing clinical, invasive and interventional cardiology since 1996. He was the co-director of the first cardiology-owned Nuclear Medicine lab in Middle Georgia and was the first nuclear medical facility accredited. Dr. Ahmed completed his fellowship training at Northwestern University and additional interventional cardiology training at the University of Louisville. He also did two years of clinical research at Northwestern. Dr. Ahmed has privileges at The Medical Center of Central Georgia, Coliseum Healthcare System and Oconee Regional Medical Center.
He performed over 2000 Coronary Interventions which include PTCA, Stents, Coronary Atherectomy, for elective and emergent PCIs. Over 1000 peripheral Angiograms and Interventions which include PTA, Fox hollow Atherectomy, Cold Laser(Spectrametics), for both above and below the poplietal anatomy. He is also coordinator of bimonthly regional Macon Cath Conference. Dr. Ahmed hospital affiliations include DeKalb Medical Center, St. Joseph's Hospital,Emory University, Emory Johns Creek and Northside Forsyth Hospital.
He's married with two sons and resides in Atlanta Georgia.
